For Families

You've noticed something. They haven't said anything.

The repeated questions. The missed appointment. If you've been wondering whether it's just aging, help them take the next step: an at-home assessment and a neurologist to talk through the results.

    What Families Notice First

The changes that are hard to bring up.

Most people come to Orena with a quiet worry, not a diagnosis. These are the signs that tend to prompt a conversation about cognitive health.

    • They repeat the same question or story
    • They're missing appointments or misplacing things
    • Bills or money have gotten harder for them to manage
    • They've gotten turned around somewhere familiar
    • They're searching for everyday words

These signs don't always mean dementia. An assessment can help describe how they are doing and support a conversation with their doctor.

    How It Works

Four steps. A report they can share with their doctor.

With their agreement, you can help arrange the assessment. They complete it and receive their report.

Step 4 · Them, with you if they choose

    Review results with a neurologist

Their reviewed report arrives 3–5 business days after completion. They can then arrange an included phone or video consultation to discuss the findings and next steps.

    The Hard Part

“What if they won't agree to it?”

It can be a difficult conversation. Here are a few ways to approach it:

    1. Start with a conversation.

Describe the changes you have noticed without making a diagnosis. Ask whether they would like a clearer picture of their cognitive health.

    2. Explain what is included.

The assessment takes about 20–25 minutes at home. It includes a reviewed report and a phone or video consultation with a neurologist. They choose whether you join.

    3. Help with the practical details.

You can help with checkout and setting up a quiet space. They should complete the assessment themselves, following its instructions.

If their scores are within the expected range, the report can provide a useful baseline. Ongoing concerns are still worth discussing with their doctor.

    Their Report
